HAVENSVILLE – Clifford Lewis Muckey, 93, of Havensville, KS died Sunday, September 19, 2010 at a Topeka nursing home. He was born May 3, 1917 in Ionia, KS the son of Stratton Franklin and Lydia Ellen Coffield Muckey. Cliff had lived in Havensville since 1967. He worked for over 30years at the Havensville Lumber and Hardware; he also worked in road and bridge construction. He was lifetime member of the Havensville Lions Club and he proudly served with the Kansas Civilian Conservation Corporation from 1934 – 1936, when among other duties, he helped construct Seneca Lake and was very involved until his death. Cliff married Helen Clark on September 10, 1939 in Mitchell County, KS. Helen preceded him in death in February 1984. Cliff married Wilma Mae Duchesneau in 1994 in Topeka, KS. Wilma preceded him in death on July 5, 2005. He was also preceded in death by 6 sisters, 2 brothers and step-children Larry Duchesneau and Barbara Keehn. Survivors include a daughter Pat Jindra (Les) of Clarkson, NE; a step-son, Leonard Duchesneau (Donna) of Auburn, KS; 2 step- daughters, Grace Young (Stacy) and Tawnie Hopkins both of Topeka, KS; 3 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Cliff was cremated. Memorial graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 23, 2010 at the Havensville Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Civilian Conservation Corp. (CCC) c/o Mercer Funeral Home P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
