Amy was one of six children of Amos J. Parkhurst and Alice L. Head. She gave the salutatory at her high school graduation ceremony, class of 1896 (Aurora), June 17, 1896, her oration was "Every Cloud has a Silver Lining". She was an artist. The Smith-Parkhurst wedding Wednesday evening was the uppermost society event of the season, March 21, 1906, p 671. The residence of Mr. and Mrs. Amos J. Parkhurst in Oswego township about three miles above Yorkville on the car line was a center of interest on Wednesday night March 14, on the occasion of the marriage of their daughter, Miss Amy Parkhurst, to Mr. Royce Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Smith will live on the old Smith homestead. p. 671: Kendall County Record 1890-1909, p. 264; 325, 671. Amy and Royce had two children Ralph and Glen.
