Funeral will be held at Gethsemane Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday for Mrs. Vera Mabe Davenport, 54, of Route 2, Greensboro, who died Sunday at North Carolina Memorial Hospital, Chapel Hill. Rev. Ernest Purcell, pastor; Elder George Hill and Rev. Lexie Martin of Roxboro will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body was taken to the home of her son, Harvey Mabe, Route 1. McLeansville, at 4 p.m. today and will remain there until placed in the church 20 minutes before the service. Native of Stokes County, she lived in Guilford County 17 years. She was a member of Piney Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Stokes County. Surviving are two other sons, Joe Smith of McLeansville and Ted Smith of Summerfield; one stepson, Raymond Smith of Liberty; two daughters, Mrs. Fay Holbrook and Mrs. Stacy Dick of Greensboro; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Odell Mabe of Winston-Salem; two brothers, Limmie Mabe of Danbury and Zeb Mabe of Walkertown; Three sister, Mrs Odus Simmons of Danbury and Mrs. Odus Stevens of Lawsonville and Mrs. Harlan Olsen of Patrick Springs, Va.
