Treasure Lucille Arter Kreis, 87 died at 7:00 am Saturday 18 September 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Zanesville, Ohio, surrounded by her family. She was born 20 April 1923 in Salem Township Muskingum County, Ohio, a daughter of Charles Edwin and Fanny Mabel Janney Arter. She was a 1941 graduate of Adamsville High School, and had lived in the Muskingum County all her life. She was retired from Good Samaritan Medical Center Nursing Department where she was employed for 37 years. She was a Lutheran and a former member of St John's Lutheran Church and its missionary society in Zanesville and the Frank M Ransbottom Chapter of OES at Adamsville.

She is survived by three daughter's; Diane Dalton (Don Baker),Zanesville, Ohio, Debbie (Greg) Strohl, of Somerset, Darla (Rich) Wieber of Thornville; one son R Douglas Kreis of Zanesville; 10 grandchildren; Shannon Keck, Shari (Bob) Paisley, Andrea Lane, Ashley (Ted) Pickrell, Abbe (Aaron Minister), Gina (Ben) Jessup, Lisa Barrows, Jennifer (Vic) Ward, James (Mandy) Noll and Stacey Morgan (Mike Baldwin), 25 great grandchildren; Eaone, AJ, and Jessica Huffman, Shelbie Keck, Titan and Gianna Grandstaff, Kaley White, Zane Paisley, Blake and Slade Lane, Lauren and Cade Pickrell, Sophie and Maci Minister, Asa and Eli Jessup, Alyssa and Vince Ward, Eli, Luke, Maggi Mae and John Noll, Alex Vensil, Dalton Morgan and Addie Baldwin; a sister Virginia Arter Koseff of La Mirada, California and a brother Robert W Arter of Zanesville, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a son John Daniel "Danny" Kreis in 2007; a granddaughter Stephanie Bowen; two sons-in-law; Joe Noll and Jim Hewitt, two sister's Ruth Arter Gadd and Grace Arter Kemery.

Our Mom was a fiercely independent and charitable woman, who loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. We also loved her very much. We will miss her immensely. Her favorite colors were Purple and Lavender. Several little girls in this area have been named Treasure in her honor. With heartfelt grief we return our Treasure to the God who made her.

Calling hours will be 4-8 pm Monday 20 September 2010 at; Bryan & Snider Funeral Home 2318 Maple Avenue Zanesville, Ohio, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday 21 September 2010. Pastor Justin Van Orman will officiate. Burial will follow at New Hope Lutheran Cemetery near Adamsville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
