Jesse Theodore Babb was the son of Absolom Maxwell and Mary Ann Shaw. He married Rachel May Wallace February 28, 1897 in El Reno, Canadian, Oklahoma. Jesse and Rachel's children were:

J.T. BABB PASSES TO THE GREAT BEYOND
In the midst of life there is death. This was most forcibly impressed upon the minds of the people of this community Tuesday morning when it was announced that Jesse Babb had passed away. Only a few days previous he was with us on the streets of Hunter, but almost without warning, death in the form of erysipelas had fastened its grip upon our friend, and removed him from our midst.

Jesse T. Babb was born in Marion county, Mo., on June 11th, 1871; died at the family home near Hunter, Okla., June 29th, 1915, aged 44 years and 18 days.

He came from his native state to old Oklahoma in 1890, settling near Yucon, and at the opening of the Cherokee Strip in 1893, he entered the race for homes and secured one of the good quarters southeast of Hunter.

In 1899 he was married to Miss May Wallace, and to this union has been born four children, two boys and two girls, all of whom survive their father.

Besides the wife and children, seven brothers, five sisters and a large number of other relatives and friends are left to mourn.

Mr. Babb united with the Baptist church at Yucon, Okla., 22 years ago. After settling in this county, he became a member of the Highland Baptist church, and later moved his membership to the Hunter Baptist church. He was a faithful, conscientious Christian, every loyal to his God, his family and his church. The Sabbath always found him with his family in the place of worship, if possible to get there. His was a clean, quiet, unassuming life, one that will cast its influence for good for years to come, and while he shall be greatly missed, the memory of his life full of good deeds will help to overshadow the pain of losing him.

The funeral was held at the Hunter Baptist church at 3:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. J.W. Bowles. The remains were interred in the Hunter cemetery.

The sorrowing family and relatives have the deep sympathy of the entire community in this, their hour of trial.
