William G. Oakley Dies In Oakland:

William G. Oakley, 83, died at 11:05pm Tuesday at his home in Oakland following a long illness. The body was taken to Taber Funeral Home in Oakland where services will be held at 4pm Thursday. The Revered Hugh Smith of Casey will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Mr. Oakley was born in Ezel, Morgan County, Ky., January 23, 1871, a son of J. V. and Rachel Henry Oakley. He married Doras Bayes August 4, 1892. They came to Illinois soon after the marriage and returned to Kentucky for one year. They then lived in Coles and Douglas counties until 1948, when they moved to Oakland.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Rogers of Kankakee, Mrs. Ethel Wheeler of Oakland; two sons, Clarence of Newman, Lawrence of Oklahoma City; eleven grandchildren; one brother, Robert of Lagrange, Ind.; one sister, Ida Pieratt of Mt. Sterling, Ky. He was a member of the Hillsboro A. F. and Antioch Baptist Church north of Oakland.
