He was the son of Johnson Robert Marion Allison and Jane Mooneyham.

George W. Allison died at his home 4 miles north of Ravenden Springs on January 21, 1924. He was one of the oldest residents of the county and has resided in the home where he died for the past 30 years. He was a Confederate Veteran and had been married three times. He was the father of eight children, all of whom are still living. There are five girls and three boys, all reside in Randolph County.
Uncle George was born in Alabama in 1844 and was 79 years of age at the time of his death. He came to this county with his father when only twelve years of age and has lived here ever since. He has been a member of the Missionary Baptist Church for more than forty years and was a deacon of the church before his death.
He was laid to rest in the cemetery at Yadkin in the presence of a great company of those who had known and loved him so long. May God comfort the bereaved ones and let us all remember his last request to meet him in Heaven. A Friend.
