Officer Geoffrey Stone was killed in a motorcycle accident when he collided with a deer on Valleydale Road. He was then struck by two oncoming vehicles.

He served in the United States Air Force for ten years. He served as a Birmingham Police Officer before joining the Vestavia Hills Police Force. He was a member of the Church of the Highlands. He was an active member in the Birmingham Tres Dias Community. He is survived by his wife, Amy Lynne Stone; five children, Katherine Stone, Christopher Stone, Sage Rose, Elijah Rose, and Gabe Rose; mother, Rita Stone; father, Ronald Stone; Grandmother, Elfriede Weigelt; brother, Garrick (Jennifer) Stone and Patrick (Heidi Eikenhorst) Stone. Memorials may be made to the Fraternal Order of Police or your favorite charity.
