WS Bradford was born near Iron Ridge, Dodge Co., Wisconsin where his father was farming. WS married "Mattie" Kinne in 1875 and their first child was born in Wisconsin. The young family with Sarah Bradford left Wisconsin for Thayer County, Nebraska about 1877 where his sister, Mary Bradford Bradley, and her husband, Will, were living. In 1905, WS, Mattie and their youngest children made the final move to Washington State where he bought land in south of Mabton. WS farmed and ranched until old age intervened. He lived next door to his son, Earl, until his last few months.
