OBITUARY-THE DECATUR HERALD
FEBRUARY 22, 1929

MATHIAS JACOBY

Mathias Jacoby died at 12:45 o'clock Thursday morning in St. Mary's Hospital. He had been in Decatur only six months, and had been staying with his daughter, Mrs. Laura Housley, 79 Fairview Place. He had made his home is Stonington before coming to Decatur.
He was born in Northampton county, Pennsylvania, on December 3, 1842 and married Abigail Kryder in Springfield September 17, 1866. He was a retired farmer and was a member of the Reformed Lutheran churh.
He leaves, besides his daughter in Decatur two other children, Mrs. Emma Beattie, Oklahoma City, Ok., and Pearl Oddy of Bloomington. He also leaves one brother, Joseph Jacoby in Nebraska.
Services will be conducted in the Dawson & Wikoff Chapel at 10 o'clock Sunday morning. Burial will be in Buckhart cemetery in Christan county.
