Franklin Jr. was the son of Franklin Ward Sr. & Elizabeth Cooper Graves. He was approx. 5 years old at the time of his death. He perished at what was later known as "Starved Camp", in March of 1847. According to one account, Franklin Jr. was offered human flesh to eat, but since his mother had refused, he did also. His mother, Elizabeth, died first followed shortly after by young Franklin.
