Dorothy was a 1937 graduate of Monroe High School. She then attended Browns Business College of Freeport where she met her husband. She was a active member of Faith United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women's Circle until her recent illness. Dorothy was the churches Sunday School Treasurer for 25 years before retiring from that position from a broken hip. She was known as the "card lady' always remembering others with cards and special gifts. She was always active doing secretary work which she enjoyed the last one being at Center School for 16 years before retiring in 1979. It was there that she had established so many friends both teachers and aides whom she has always kept in touch with. There were many students and parents that still seem to remember her today.
