Jesus called Mildred Erlene Burford and carried her to Heaven on Sunday, December 28, 2008. She was 76 and was a resident at People Care, Tavistock. She was born in East Zorra Township, daughter of the late Joseph Kropf and the former Elizabeth Roth. Mildred enrolled at the Ontario Mennonite Bible School in Kitchener in 1959 and graduated in 1961. She worked as an Aid at the Fairview Mennonite Home in Preston and later in 1966 worked at the Stratford General Hospital as an R.N.A., retiring in 1989. She attended Elgin Missionary Church. Beloved wife of James Burford who predeceased her April 20, 2004. Loving sister of Oliver Kropf and wife Shirley, Howard Kropf and wife Helen, Sherman Kropf and wife Nancy. Also surviving is a sister-in-law Elva Ayres and husband Lionel and many nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by triplet brothers and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. There will be no funeral home visitation. A memorial service will be held at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford, on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at 3 p.m. Pastor Lance Johnson will officiate. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Youth for Christ or Salvation Army through the funeral home
