COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Betty Sue Phy, 67, of Cookeville, will be held at noon on Friday, Sept. 17, at Crest Lawn Funeral Home-Cremation Center. Burial will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 16, and from 11 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Phy died Wednesday, Sept.. 15, 2010, at her residence.
She was born April 9, 1943, in Cookeville to the late Harley Eugene Judd and Lida Mae Hamilton Judd.
Mrs. Phy was a member of Community Chapel Church of Cookeville and was secretary for 30 years at the church. She worked as a line technician with Acme Boot Co. and was a cook at Cookeville High School. She was a devoted, loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Her family includes three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kathy S. and Richard Key, Anita Gwen Phy and Charlotte and Wesley Brown, all of Cookeville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Harold E. Phy Jr. and Jason Brian and Sarah Phy, all of Cookeville; six granddaughters, Rachel Marie Gregory and husband Jeremy of Sparta, Sheena Wheeler of Gallatin and Daisy Mae Brown, Brittany Brown, Addison Grace Phy and Bella Carrington Phy, all of Cookeville; six grandsons, Ross Tyler Phy, Christian Blake Phy, Jose W. Brown, Joshua D. Brown, Jeremy Shane Brown and wife Carrie and Tony Dale Brown and wife Mattie, all of Cookeville; great-granddaughters, Laylah Alexis Key of Sparta, Aubrey Faye Wheeler of Gallatin and Braiden Gabriel Brown, Courtney Taylor Brown, Jordan W. Brown and Cora D. Brown, all of Cookeville; a sister and brother-in-law, Doris Marie and Charles Ellis of Newnan, Ga.; a brother and sister-in-law, Autry Eugene and Dimple Judd of Cookeville; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Harold E. Phy.
Pallbearers will be Andy Bennett, Michael Sinor, Arlis Phillips, Richard Key, Jason Phy and Harold Phy Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Cookeville High School "Lunch Bunch."
Memorial donations may be made to assist with the services.
Bro. Isaac Smith will officiate at the services.
