Louise was the daughter of John Washington and Clara May (Knight) Barrett. She married Houston B. Brooks, December 22, 1940 in Graham. He preceded her in death on February 13, 1985. Louise was a longtime resident of Graham before moving to Azle in 1988. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors at time of death included two daughters, Linda Crownover of Fredericksburg, Texas, Joy McKinzie of Fort Worth, Texas; four sons, Dan Brooks of Aledo, Texas, Denton Brooks and wife Judy of Lake Worth, Texas, Dean Brooks and wife Linda of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Kenny Brooks and wife Lucretia of Azle, Texas.
In addition to her husband, Louise was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Janette Brooks and five brothers, Johnny, J.B., Foster, Horace, and C.O. (Slim) Barrett.
