Deceased Name: Martin D. Habegger Berne - 1909-2002
Martin D. Habegger, 92, of Berne, a Monroe Township dairy and grain farmer, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at Adams County Memorial Hospital. The Adams County native had also worked for Central Sugar Co. in Decatur and Pioneer Hybird International Seed as a salesman. He recently served on the advisory board of the Adams County Farm Bureau Credit Union. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur, a former member of the Holstein Association and Lions Club, and was a World War II Army veteran. Surviving are his wife, Estella; a son, Ronald E. of Monroe; a sister, Viola Dennison of Berne; and grandsons Doug and Troy, both of Monroe. He was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister and two half sisters. Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Swiss Village Chapel, Berne, with calling from noon until services and also from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, all at Swiss Village. Burial will be at Mazelin Cemetery, Berne. Memorials are to Swiss Village or to the donor's choice.
