Illness claims Myrtle Barker
NORTH OGDEN-Myrtle Call Barker, 54 wife of Aldro J. Barker, died yesterday at 9:45 a.m. at Dee Hospital following a short illness.
She was born December 12,1903, in Syracuse, Utah, a daughter of William and Louisa Willey Call. On June 25, 1924 she was married to Mr. Barker in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She lived in Syracuse until she was 13, when the family moved to malad, Idaho, where they lived for five years. When 18 years of age she moved back to Ogden. She has lived there and at North Ogden since then.
She was employed at J. C. Penney Co., in charge of the sports department. SHe was a member of the North Ogden LDS ward, was a Primary teacher and also served as president of the auxillary. At the time of her death she was a Sunday school teacher and a stake missionary in Ben Lomond Stake. She was also a member of the Relief Society Singing Mothers.
She was a member of the North Ogden Civic League, and a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, North Camp, 19164.
She is survived by her husband and the following sons; Aldro Barker, Jr., North Ogden; Kay W. Barker, Ogden; Lynn R. Barker of Washington Terrace and Dennis J. Barker of Salt Lake City. Four grandchildren also survive as well as one brother and three sisters; Jed Call of Layton, Kent Call of North Ogden, Mrs. Eldon (Reva) Stephenson, Merced, Calif.; Mrs. Glen (Elma) Robinson of Roy; Mrs. Lou (Mary) Fuller of Eden.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Lindquist and Sons Colonial Funeral Chapel with Bishop Lowell Cutler of the North Ogden Second Ward officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary Monday from 6 until 9 p.m. and Tuesday until the hour of services. Interment will be in North Ogden cemetery.
