NEW LEXINGTON - Rachel A. Ross, 80, of Granville, died at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at Autumn Health Care in Newark.
She was born Jan. 10, 1928, in New Lexington, to the late Evan Bennett and Elizabeth Edna Shanner Bennett Anderson. Mrs. Ross was formerly of New Lexington and Denver, Colo. She was a homemaker, caregiver and self employed in Denver and attended Bible Baptist Church in Newark.
She is survived by sons, Larry (Carolyn Sue) Ross and David E. (Rita) Ross; grandchildren, Pamela Howard, Jason (Jessica) Ross and Shawn (Tracy) Ross; great-grandchildren, Jeremy David (Jessica) Ross, Ashley Larae (Mark) Ross, Coral Lawrence Ross, Mitchell Howard and Taylor and Addison Ross; great-great-grandchildren, Jeremy David Ross II; Corbin Allen Bell and Axel Graham Ross; sister, Betty (Van) Walker; stepsisters, Dora Belle Belew and Brenda Kay Fitch; brothers, Evan Bennett Jr. and Richard (Carol) Bennett; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Ned D. Ross, who passed away March 8, 1994; brother, Alfred Bennett; sister, Elenore Bennett Hipkins; and grandson, David Lawrence Ross.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 23, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 304 Mill St., New Lexington.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2008, at the funeral home, with Pastor Paul Reimer officiating. Burial will be in Rehoboth Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bible Baptist Church in Newark.
