George owned a fuel oil truck and operated a route in Downtown Dallas and Deep Ellum. Fuel oil was used to fire boilers in cleaning and pressing plants, plus other industrial users who needed boilers to produce heat in buildings. This was a source of energy before natural gas and electricity were available on a commercial basis. George was not much of a Church goer, but he liked to play dominoes on Sunday afternoons with his sons.
George and his brother James were also proprietors of the Lievsay Brothers Saloon in Denison (c. 1890 to 1893).
George and Belle brought the family to Dallas from Denison in 1913 (approx.) and lived on Fairview St., just off East Grand Ave. and R.L. Thornton Frwy (I-30).
