Chico Record, Thursday Morning, March 10, 1921, pg 5 col 7: Francis E. Boness Succumbs in Stockton. Francis Eugene Boness, of Chico, widely known cattleman, died at Stockton yesterday, according to word received here by relatives. He was 41 years of age.
Boness was a native of California and throughout his life had been a resident of this state. He made his home in Chico for many years, leaving here about a year ago for Stockton.
He is survived by five brothers and six sisters: Thomas Boness, Amos Boness, William Boness; Mary Boness, Mrs. Annie Wardwell, Ada Boness, Mrs. Jessie March, Margaret Boness, all of Chico, and Mrs. Reba Campter, of Oroville.
The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock from the Bicknell & Moore chapel here, Rev. R.S. Eastman officiating. Interment will take place in Chico cemetery.
