Topeka State Journal Thurs. 22 Apr., 1971, pg 27:

VASSAR--Fred H. Masenthin, 75,Vassar, died here Tues. of an apparent heart attack.

He was born June 17,1895 at Vassar where he lived his entire life. He was a retired farmer.

He was a member of the Lutheran Laymen's League and the Zion Lutheran Church.

His wife, Emma Masenthin, died in 1922.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Much, Topeka, 3 sisters, Miss Hilda Masenthin, Vassar, Miss Olga Masenthin, Scranton and Mrs. Minnie Dittmer, Creek, NE.; 5 brothers, Albert Masenthin, Ottawa, Herbert Masenthin,Overbrook, Herman Masenthin, Dorchester, NE., and Martin Masenthin and Carl Masenthin, both of Scranton.

Services will be Sat. at the Zion Lutheran Church with burial in the Mount Zion Cemetery. Feltner Funeral Home , Lyndon, is in charge.
