She was born May 27, 1927 in Watauga County. She was a homemaker and a member of Proffitt's Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Deborah Culler and husband Alfred, and Denise Hampton and husband Dennis, all of Boone, and Dina Alexander and husband Steve of Monroe; two sons, Douglas McNeil and wife Debbie, and David McNeil and wife Karen, all of Boone; eleven grandchildren, Cathy and Jeff Jones of Hickory, Christy and Aaron Peronto of Oviedo, Florida, Josh and Kristel McNeil, and Kelly and Allen Hollar, all of Boone, Andi Hampton of Hickory, Kimberly Hampton and Kayla McNeil, both of Boone, Teddy and Karl Angermeier, both of Raleigh, Troy McNeil of Boone, and A.J. Alexander and Matthew Alexander, both of Monroe; one sister, Lucille Elliott of Vilas; one sister-in-law, Wanda McNeil of Boone, and special friends, Tam and Bernice McGuire. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, and a number of special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred McNeil; her step-mother, Frances Culler, and one sister, Juanita Hayes.
Funeral services were held at Howards Creek Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend James Hagaman and Reverend Delmar James. Burial in the Culler Cemetery.
