SHEEHAN, MAJ. JAMES, "DOUG," 53, of Shively, died Saturday at his residence. He was a major for the Shively Police Department, where he worked for 31 years. He was a member of the Shively Lodge #17 Fraternal Order of Police, a former member of Knights of Columbus Monsignor Newman Council #4665 and a Catholic by faith. Survivors include his wife, the former Jean Denardi; his parents, John and Renilda Sheehan; a daughter, Jamie Ann; sisters, Theresa Delaney and Mary Jude Borst; brothers, Tom and Patrick Sheehan; and several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Shively Community Center, 1901 Park Row in Shively Park. Entombment will be in Louisville Memorial Gardens-West Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday at Keenan's Funeral Home, 4724 Dixie Hwy. at Rockford Lane.
