She had an older brother Julius who was born in Russia. Their daughters Emma, Mathilda "Tillie", and Helen "Lena" were born in Neche, along with a son Albert who died at birth.
Later August became Town Marshall and the family purchased a farm in Bathgate, Pembina, North Dakota.
Eva worked as a teacher at Bathgate School in Bathgate, ND in her 20's, along with her sister Helen. Then she traveled in her 30's working for parks system around the United States working as a waitress.
In 1941 she moved to Seattle and married Ernie 17 Apr 1942. Eventually they moved to Sacramento. They both loved horses and had a farm. Her family scrapbook was full of photos of the many horses they owned.
