BUTLER - JONATHAN KRAMER, a well-known resident of Butler, died Saturday night about 9:00 o'clock after an illness covering a period of nearly two years, from the effects of a complicated disease.

The funeral took place Tuesday at 10:30 from his family home on College Street and services were conducted at the Evangelical Church by the Rev. T.S. Weaver. Interment was made in the Zion Cemetery, north of town.

The deceased was born in Worthington Township, February 20, 1844. He has continuously resided in a radius of two miles of his place of birth. He was justice of the peace for 18 years and a member of the Salem Church for upwards of 40 years.

On May 10, 1868, he was united in marriage with Miss Sarah J. Niman, who with nine children survive. They are John F. Kramer of Mansfield, Prof. W.C. Kramer of Mansfield, W.N. and S.B. Kramer of Butler, Mrs. Minnie Kick of Loudonville, Mrs. Emma Montgomery of Knox County, Daisy Kramer of Columbus, Ada Kramer and Mrs. Maud Statler of Butler. One daughter, Ella Kick, died a few years ago.

Mr. Kramer was for many years a teacher in the township during the winter months and worked on the farm during the summer, and there are many people in this locality who secured the rudiments of their education by attending school conducted by the deceased.

He was upright in all his dealings with his fellow men and was held in the highest esteem by all that knew him. He was a hard working man up to a little over a year ago, when he moved to Butler from his farm, near Salem, on account of failing health.

At her death what is left of the $4,000 is to be divided equally among the heirs. All this is intended to be in lieu of her dower and her claim to a year's support. The executor is directed to erect a monument to cost not more than $200. Blanche Kick, a granddaughter, is given $100 and Walter Kick, a grandson, is given $150, the latter is given the greater sum because the former had received $50. The widow is directed to consult the sons in regard to the investment of the $4,000. J.F. Kramer is appointed executor of the will for which he is to be paid $200.
