CAROLYN CLEMO

DRAIN - The funeral will be held Aug. 29 for Carolyn Joy Clemo of Drain, who died Aug. 27 of cancer. She was 69.

Clemo was born Sept. 6, 1932, in Montrose, S.D., to Floyd and LaVinia Bennett Nutt. She lived in Ewing, Neb., Norfolk, Neb. and Glide before moving to Drain 64 years ago. She graduated from Drain High School in 1949.

She married Armin Clemo in Elkton on Nov. 15, 1950.

Clemo worked 24 years as a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service. She also was a school bus driver and worked for the Oregon Department of Employment.

Her interests included knitting and counted cross-stitching. She entered exhibits at the North Douglas County Fair and won numerous ribbons.

She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary in Drain and belonged to the Drain United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Elizabeth Will of Scholls; two sons, Kevin of Hillsboro and Ron of Creswell; two sisters, Edna Bell Linch of Newberg and Floy Sawyer of roseburg; a half brother, Merritt Nutt of South Dakota; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A granddaughter, Laura Clemo, died previously.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove, and from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Drain United Methodist Church. Thursday's funeral will be at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
