Services for Andrew James Furr were held in the Hext Cemetery with the Rev. Ralph Wootton, Menard Baptist minister, and the Hext Masonic Lodge. He married Miss Mary Wilkerson of Menard County in 1895. She died in 1942 and in 1948 was married to Mrs. William Killingsworth. Mr. Furr was the District Deputy Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge. He had served as county commissioner of the Hext precinct and had been active in the civic affairs of Menard County. Survived by his wife; one son - Hubert Furr; two daughters - Winnie Braley and Mrs. Henry Wagoner; three stepdaughters; one stepson; three brothers - R.B. "Bob", Will, and Arthur Furr; one sister - Mrs. Mark Cantwell; five grandchildren.
