Mrs Carolyn Welty

Ill eight years, Mrs Carolyn Welty, 74, died Thursday evening, March 31, at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs Miller Uline, 353 North Hartman St, Nappanee, where she had lived five years.

Born in Stuttgart, Germany, she was the daughter of John G and Louise Kurtz Klotz.

Coming to this country as a girl, she married Jesse Welty on March 27, 1894. He resides in Nappanee.

Other survivors are three daughters, Mrs Anna Williams of Holland, Mich, Mrs Julia Berger and Mrs Uline, both of Nappanee; four brothers, Fred, Jesse, Charles and Jacob, all of Nappanee; four sisters, Mrs Pauline Krull and Mrs Mary Lopp, both of Nappanee and Miss Lucy Klotz and Mrs Ann Whitmyer, both of South Bend; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 pm Sunday at the Grace UB church where she was a member. Rev S C Overmyer officiated. Burial was in the Union Center cemetery.
