He was one of the crew members of the USS Cole killed in the terrorist attack on the Cole on October 12, 2000 at a port in Yemen. He enlisted in the US Navy in November, 1998. He completed Basic Training in Great Lakes, IL, in January, 1999, and then was a student at the Center for Naval Intelligence in San Diego, CA. After completing that training he was assigned to the USS Cole (DDG 67) in January, 2000. Among his military awards and decorations were the Purple Heart; Combat Action Ribbon; and Navy Unit Commendation.

He was survived by his wife of 5 years; and his daughter.

Interment on June 22, 2001.
