Shirley Mae Bolt was born on 12 Nov. 1920 in Coalmont, Clay Co., Ind. She was the daughter of Stella (Sexton) and Howard D. Bolt.

When Shirley was still young her parents moved the family to South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana. Here Shirley attended Central High School and was the vice president of her senior class.

After graduation, in 1940, Shirley had a job as a messenger girl for the telephone company. She was also involved with the Rainbow Girls, a young woman's organization associated with the Masonic temple, where she served as "worthy advisor".

On 23 Dec. 1944 Shirley married Carl D. Love, Jr. The couple was married in the First Baptist Church by Rev. George Dick. A reception was held for the couple at the home of Shirley's parents.

After their marriage (and after Carl was discharged from the Army) Shirley and Carl settled in South Bend and here they had 2 children; Cheryl Diane and Greg Alan.

Shirley from a stroke died on 24 Jan. 1993 in Memorial Hospital in South Bend. She was 72 years old.
