Stephen was born and raised in Philadelphia and enlisted in the Marines 24 October 1966, at a Philadelphia Recruiting Office.
Upon his arrival in Vietnam, he was assigned to Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 4th Marine
Regiment, 3rd Marine Division. Alpha Company was at Con Thien (Hill 158) preparing for Operation Prairie IV, when they had incoming hostile artillery and mortar fire. Stephen died as a result of fragmentation wounds to the right side of his chest.
Tour of duty unknown.
Survived by his parents, Willie and Bernice Dixon of 4219 Mantua Ave, Philadelphia, PA.
