Lucy and Horace first appear in England in the 1881 census living in The Mount, West Hill, Sydenham, Kent, and expecting their first child. In the 1911 census Lucy said she had been married for 30 years so they probably married in 1880 in Canada, shortly before coming to England. They had five children: Edith Muriel 1881, Arthur Edward 1882-1883, Horace Stanley 1884-1963, Constance Eleanor 1887 and Florence Beatrice 1890. The first two children were born in Sydenham, then the family moved to Morlands, Coventry Park, Streatham, Surrey (now South London). In 1901 Horace and Lucy were staying at a lodging house in Eastbourne, Sussex, with Edith 19, and Horace 17, while their two younger daughters were at school in Eastbourne. In 1911 Lucy was at Northwoods, Gosport Road, Bridgemary, Fareham, Hampshire, the home of her daughter Constance who was married to Francis Hobart. Florence was also with them. Lucy was living at 23 Old Park Avenue, Balham, when she died. She was buried in West Norwood Cemetery on 30 October 1919.
