Obituary.

John H. Parker was born April 7th, 1841 in Colebrook, New Hampshire and died April 17th, 1915 at Knowles, Oklahoma. At an early age he removed to Indiana and later to Attica, Iowa where, on February 26, 1868 he was united in marriage to Caroline S. Maddy. To this union were born twelve children, seven boys and five girls. In 1876 brother and sister Parker came to Sumner county, Kansas settling near the present town of Mayfield. Seven years ago last November the came to Beaver county, Oklahoma and settled on a ranch six miles north west of Knowles. Last Fall they came to the present place of residence one half mile Northeast of Knowles.

About two years after his marriage brother Parker was converted and joined the Methodist church of which he remained a faithful member to the end. He was a faithful husband and loving father. Those who survive him besides Mrs. Parker are Ira Parker of Wellington, Kans.; Mrs. Kitty Oglesby and Mrs. Ina Ammann of Harper, Kans.; Joseph Ernest Parker and Mrs. Ollie Lawn of Mayfield, Kansas, Charles Parker of Englewood, Kansas; Mrs. Maud Coon of Millgrove, Missouri, Mrs. Nellie Taylor of Gate, Oklahoma and James and Frank Parker of Knowles, Oklahoma.

Funeral service conducted by S.J. Manning pastor of Mayfield.
