Nora Elizabeth Wheeler was the daughter of George W. and Hattie Virginia Wigley Wheeler of Paulding County, GA.

Nora Wheeler married Joseph "Joe" Arnold, son of John and Zannie Grogan Arnold. They had several children: Mary V., George, Maureen, Alma Joe, Helen and Aline Arnold.


Services Held For Mrs. Nora E. Arnold

Mrs. Nora E. Arnold, age 85, of Dallas, Georgia, died on Tuesday, March 8, 1988 in Cobb General Hospital following two months illness. She was born on February 7, 1903 in Paulding County, Georgia, where she was a lifelong resident.

She was a member of the New Hope First Baptist Church and a devoted and loving homemaker, mother, wife and grandmother. She was the daughter of the late Mr. George Wheeler and the late Mrs. Hattie Wigley Wheeler.

Her husband, Mr. Joe Arnold, passed away 41 years ago.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Mary Jones of Hiram, Mrs. Maureen Ross, Mrs. Helen Hollis and Mrs. Alene Hendrix, all of Dallas and Mr. and Mrs. Henry (Alma Jo) Ferguson of Powder Springs; 13 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 9, 1988 at 2:00 p.m. in Eberhart Chapel with Rev. Robert White officiating.

Interment was in New Hope Cemetery with her grandsons, Bobby Hollis, Douglas Hollis, Joe Hollis, Bennie Ferguson, Mike Ferguson and jack Ferguson, serving as pallbearers. Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
