Livonia Gazette:
"Last Thursday was a beautiful day and on that day all that was earthly of Leta Leach Burt was placed in a flower-lined tomb. She was the eldest daughter of Mark S. and Ella Crooks Leach, and married Chester Burt on Christmas day, 1889. She was 26 years of age. Her death was not unexpected to her friends, as she had been ill for some time. Mrs. Burt was a woman of uncommon personal beauty, and this combined with an amiable disposition, endeared her to all. Her loss is a great affliction. 'We wept that one so beautiful should have a lot so brief.'
