Surviving are her husband, Clifton Brooks, Sr.; daughter, Carolyn Carter (Ted); two sons, George Brooks (Latonja) and Joseph Brooks; two granddaughters; one great granddaughter; two great grandsons; mother, Emma Gayles; two sisters, Mary Winckler and Barbara Speede (Harold); one brother, Jimmy Hite; a host of other relatives and friends.
Remains rested at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at 1pm at Quioccasin Baptist Church, 9011 Quioccasin Road. Dr. Andrew M. Mosley, Jr. officiated. Interment Pryor Memorial Cemetery.
