Margaret E. Acker, 91, formerly of 1 Susquehanna Drive, Lewisburg, died Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.

Born April 24, 1923 in Clayton, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Michael J. and Margaret (Blizzard) West. She and her husband, Louis Acker, were married on June 17, 1940. Together they celebrated 58 years of marriage before his death September 14, 1998.

Margaret graduated from high school in the Poconos.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Lewisburg.

Margaret loved to read and knit and was an avid bridge player.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Lindy C. and Bill Mattern, of Mifflinburg; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Internment will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, NY.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Public Library for Union County, 255 Reitz Blvd., Lewisburg, PA 17837 or Evangelical Community Hospital, 1 Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837 or the First Presbyterian Church 18 Market St, Lewisburg, PA 17837.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 106 S. Second St. Lewisburg.
