William H. Snead married Caroline, daughter of Wright Scoggins, in Greene Co., GA, on 24 Nov. 1836. They were the parents of Martha Ann, who m. John J. Huggins, and William R. Snead. Caroline died 17 Feb. 1844 at Pataula in Randolph Co., GA (later, Quitman Co.). William H. Snead remarried on 15 Aug. 1844 in Randolph Co. to Harriet, daughter of David and Anna Godwin. They were parents of Taylor David (m. Eudora Augusta Horn), Alfred Judson (m. Margaret Alice Garner), Henry Clay (m. Lucy Frances Harris), Sarah E. (m. D. Kindred Cone), Luther Burton (m. 1] Virginia Josephine Matheney and 2] Frances Sutton), William (d. 1870-1880), and Harriet Frances (m. Douglas Arthur Cone).

In the fall of 1848, William H. and Harriet Godwin Snead moved with their family, her parents, and other families from Randolph Co., GA, to Ringgold in Bienville Psh., LA. The Sneads later lived in Red River Psh., LA, and late in their lives, William and Harriet went to TX to live near their children who had settled there. William H. Snead died at Cone's Mill in Franklin Co.
