Arthur married Irma M. Pierce, Jan. 1,1935, in Winnebago County. He lived most of his life in Belvidere and was, a Boone County farmer. Member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Imnianuel's "Over 60" Club, a former elder of the church and served on various boards and committees. Former member and past chairman of the Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service, and a former member of the Pure Milk Association. Member of Boone County Farm Bureau and former beef superintendent of the Boone County Fair. Former member of Men's Belvidere Bowling Association. Arthur enjoyed playing baseball on severallocal area teams in her earlier years, and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs. Survivors include bis wife, Irma; sons, Arthur (Virginia) Hyland, Thomas R, (Penny) Hyland, both of Belvidere, Robert A. (Sharon) Hyland of Rockford, Delbert A- Hyland of Des Moines, Iowa, and Donald E; (Julie) Hyland of Normal; 20 grandchildren; 23 greatgrandchildren; and brothers, James E./(Aliee) Hyland of She-boygan, Wis., and John T.
