GRACE E. CHAMBERS Age 73, died August 31, 2010 at Christus St. Vincent Medical Center in Santa Fe. Born Grace E. Tedrow in Fairfield, IA on March 10, 1937. Grace graduated from Fairfield High School in 1954, and married Vern Chambers in 1955. While Vern was in the Army from 1955 to 1957, the Chambers were stationed at White Sands Proving Ground and at Garrison Camp Otsu, Japan. Grace worked as a hair stylist and beauty shop owner in Iowa before moving to Boulder, CO in 1967. After moving to Santa Fe in 1970, she and Vern opened and operated Santa Fe Drug on Cerrillos Road until 1978. Grace then became a Realtor and worked at a number of offices in Santa Fe, most recently for Coldwell Banker Trails West Realty. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern; and her parents, George and Lucille Tedrow. She is survived by her sister, Marilyn McCoy; brothers: George and Art Tedrow; sons: Jack (Lisa) and Michael (Diana); and grandchildren: Tom, Shelley Havill (Shawn), Alissa and Kevin. A celebration of Grace's life will be held at 3 p.m. September 18th at Christ Lutheran Church, 1701 Arroyo Chamiso. She will be interned at Santa Fe National Cemetery with her husband George during a private ceremony. By George and Grace's prior request, please no flowers.
