John Adras, 80, of Las Vegas, passed away Friday, Sept. 19, 2008. He was born March 12, 1928, in Riverside, Calif., and had resided in Nevada for 76 years. His family came to Las Vegas in the 1930's. John attended Fifth Street Grammar School and Las Vegas High School and continued his education at the Military Academy in Carlsbad, Calif. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army after serving four years. John retired from the Clark County School District after 28 years. He is survived by his five children, Georgina Clark, John Adras Jr., Cynthia McCann, Michael Adras and Paul Adras; 18 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, in the Adoration Chapel at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 220 N. 14th St. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, also at the Church. Donations can be made to St. Bridget Catholic Church or to the charity of your choice.
