In 1897 Mr. Lawson came to Hamilton County with his father and siblings Will and Nell to live in the home of his grandfather, T. B. Smith, who died in January, 1900.
He lost an arm in a cotton compress accident about 1912.
On March 30, 1913, he married Ida Gertruce Smith (Hamilton County Marriage Record Bk. 6, pg. 110).
They were the parents of two daughters--Glyn and Clarice.
Walter Lawson was survived by his wife, his daughters, his father, a brother--Will Lawson and a sister--Mrs. Nell Schwartz.
Funeral services were at his graveside. He was the highest local offician in the Order of Odd Fellows.
His obituary published in the Hamilton Record of February 26, 1920, stated that he was born in 1892.
