Edward arrived in Vietnam 16 January 1964 and was assigned to Delta Company, 9th Motor Transportation Battalion, 3rd Marine Division.
Edward died of his injuries to the body, when the plane he was traveling in crashed after taking off the runway. He was returning from Hong Kong to his unit from R&R.
Survived by his parents, Edward J and Joan J Monahan of New Fairfield, CT.
His name was added to the Vietnam Wall on November 1983.
