Relatives have received word of the death of Harry S. Blethen 70, of Huntington, W. Va. in a Baltimore hospital last Saturday. He was born Oct. 17, 1901. at Avalon, a son of the late Nathan Whitney and Mary Etta Blethen. An active participant in the lay program of the United Methodist Church, he was a recipient of the Layman of the Year Award from both the Huntington District and West Virginia Conference. He held many positions as a lay delegate, as well as in the Emmanuel United Methodist Church. Mr. Blethen was a former president of the Huntington Automobile Dealers Association.
