Mr. Abbott died Augustl 10, 1997, in Mesa, Ariz. Mrs. Abbott died March 25, 1999, in Mesa. Mr. Abbott retired after 37 years at E.I. DuPont, Clinton. Mrs. Abbott was a homemaker all her life. Mr. Abbott was born April 2, 1918, in Fulton, Ill. Rachel Schult was born May 30, 1919, in Clinton County. They were married in 1940 in Iowa City.
Survivors include daughters, Janice Poller, Marianna, Fla., Judy Leclair, Dover, N.H., Mary Cosman, Baldwin City, Kan., Carol Abbott, Mesa, and Cathy Abbott, Maricopa, Ariz.; a son, Gary, Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
