Elziver was born March 1851, just 5 months later. His middle name appears to be Solomon.
By 1855, Jonas has moved to Athens Co, Ohio, having married Melissa Houghland that year.
In 1860, living next door to Jonas' parents in Springfield township, Fayette county, are Rachel's parents, William and Hannah Solomon. Next door to them are William Solomon Jr., 'Bashela' Solomon (could this be Rachel?), and 'Elijah' Solomon (this is probably Elziver). Ages for both are correct.
In 1870, Rachel is still living in Fayette county, near Jonas' family, along with her brother William and son 'Elzador Solomon'.
By 1880, she has moved to Bedford county. Elziver is still living with her, along with another son, Marion. In this census, they all have the surname Prinkey.
Jonas was 24 and Rachel 16 at the time. While this was not unusual in those days, they were not married at the time of the pregnancy. Even if they did marry, just four years after Elziver's birth, Jonas is in Ohio. One could speculate this was an underlying factor in Jonas' leaving for the west.....perhaps he decided it was time to 'get out of Dodge'.
