Margaret, known as Maggie, was the daughter of Judd I. & Nancy Watson (Lamkin) Green.

She married Mac Orville Estes in Newtonia on October 24, 1897. On Oct. 28, 1897, an article published in The Newton County News (Newtonia) describing their wedding follows:
"ESTES-GREEN WEDDING
Married, at the home of the bride's parents, a short distance northeast of Newtonia, on Sunday, October 24, 1897, at a few minutes past 4 P. M. , Miss Maggie Green to Mr. M. O. Estes, son of Hiram Estes, Sr., of southeast of Newtonia. It was a pretty home wedding and but the culmination of a long and happy courtship.

Both parties are well known here as Newtonia or vicinity has been their home since childhood. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Winter Green. After the ceremony a befitting wedding feast was partaken of by the wedding party. The young couple took the evening train at Ritchey for a short wedding tour.

The bride is a general favorite with everyone. She is handsome, intelligent, amiable, and has a pleasant work for everyone and will bring sunshine into her new home. She was becomingly attired in a dahlia colored Henrietta trimmed in embroidered chiffon, which suited her well her fair complexion and made her a lovely looking bride.

The groom is a model young man, is good looking, is highly educated; having attended Business College at Kansas City for a number of years, and is worthy of the good fortune he has gained in winning his fair bride. He wore the usual color and looked his best.

THE NEWS joins the host of friends of the bride and groom in wishing them a full realization of all the air castles they have built for wedded bliss."
