Charles was married to Susan Larzelere on December 15, 1871. He had three children: George Burleson, Dill Lilburn Burleson and Benjamin Burleson. His parents were: Job and Amy (Arnold) Burleson. He was the brother of: Eliza ann (Burleson) Parker, Ichabod Burleson, Jeremiah M. Burleson, Timothy J. Burleson, Stephen Burleson, Catherine Burleson and Rosette Burleson. He is related to Ralph Edward Burleson, Sr., who is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia.
