Hill, Howard J. Jr.
Kimball Township - Howard J. Hill, Jr., 46, of 4997 Gratiot Rd., died Monday in his home unexpectedly.
He was born Jan. 22, 1930, in Port Huron, and was a lifelong resident
Mr. Hill was a veteran of the Korean War where he served with the U. S. Navy and he was a member of Gleason-Butler V. F. W. Post 5585, Emmett.
He married Virginia A. Visga on July 5, 1952 in Memphis.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, James R., Robert J. and Bryan S. Hill, all of Kimball Township; four daughters, Miss Betty Hill, Kimball Township; Mrs. Barbara Closs, Port Huron; Mrs. Beverly Hollis, Marysville, and Miss Judy Hill, Smiths Creek; three sisters. Mrs. Walter (Norma) Caughel and Mrs. Alger (Ethel) Lashbrook both of Emmett; Mrs. Victor (Vonda) Dimon, Port Huron; two brothers, Hershel Hill, Port Huron, and Ford Stark, St. Marys, Ont.; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Arthur Smith Funeral Home - South Chapel. The Rev. Richard Martin, pastor of Assemblies of God Churches, will officiate.
Burial will be in the Lamb Cemetery.
Visiting hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Glen Rose, Larry Rock, Glenn Carnhan, Pat Rock, Frank Hill and Pat Carnahan will be pallbearers.
Ed Hill will be honorary pallbearer.
