A.J. Kerby

A.J. Kerby, 80, of Town Creek, Ala., died Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at ECM Hospital. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2004, at Elliott Funeral Home, Moulton, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2004, at the funeral home.

Officiating will be Billy Cotton.

He was born April 30, 1924, in Colbert County.

He was a Marine veteran of World War II and a member of Mount Zion Freewill Baptist Church. He was a farmer.

He was preceded in death by parents, Lonnie and Nannie Kerby; and grandson, Frankie Crisler.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Kerby; son, Wayne Kerby (Debbie), of Town Creek; daughter, Judy Crisler (Greer), of Town Creek; sisters, Martha Kerby, of Town Creek, and Birdie Scroggin, of Tuscumbia; grandchildren, Athena and Shane Harrison, Jeremy Kerby and Joshua Kerby, all of Town Creek, Leslie and Jamie Hammell, of Rogersville, Greta and Matt Cooper, of Russellville, Ashley and Emily Crisler, of Tuscumbia; great-grandchildren, Brennan Harrison, Madalyne Harrison, Madeline Cooper and Tristan Hammell.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
